Postby Brenda T on Sun Jan 31, 2010 11:15 pm

My husband & I are going to start March 1. Question I have is regarding the website southbeachrecipes.com There is a Breakfast Cheesecake on there that sounds wonderful! Can I have that everyday?

I jumped over there to check out the recipe... http://www.southbeachrecipes.com/diet-r ... cheesecake

Breakfast Cheesecake
3 packages (8 oz each) neufchatel cheese (1/3 less fat cream cheese)
8 oz fat free cream cheese
1 1/2 cup Splenda
24 oz nonfat cottage cheese
6 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 400*F.

In a large mixing bowl beat the 4 packages of cream cheese and Splenda until smooth and fluffy. In a blender or food processor combine cottage cheese and eggs and blend until smooth. Add gradually to the cream cheese mixture. Fold in the vanilla extract. Pour into spring form pan or pie pan.

Bake for 10 minutes. Turn the oven down to 200* and bake for an additional 40 minutes. Turn off the oven and allow the cheesecake to stay in the oven until cool.

Makes 16 servings

It appears okay... but realize that portion control is going to be key with something like this. If you can eat just one serving, it should be alright. I'm not sure it will "hold" you all morning, that's all. 1/16 of a pie plate is a tiny sliver.

Any other questions?

Thanks! I figured if I have some eggs and a little slice I should be good til around 10. I am not a big "veggie" person, more the chocoholic type so this is pretty scary for me. Husband was on it a few years ago and really dropped the weight! I really need to lose the belly so hopefully this will work for me.
